Adult Protective Services (APS) Adult Protective Services (APS) receives, identifies and investigates reports of abuse, neglect or exploitation of adults age 18 years or older who are incapacitated or anyone 60 and older. APS workers also provide case management or related services.

Philosophy of Adult Protective Services. The following principles are basic to the planning and delivery of APS: Proper protection of adults may require an APS.

Any adult who has a disability or who is age 65 or older that is in a state of abuse, neglect, or exploitation may be eligible to receive adult protective services.
